    Who can subscribe?

    Our home insurance is designed for students residing in France (including ERASMUS and international students). Here are the eligibility criteria:

    1. Required status:
      • Student or recent graduate with valid proof (student ID, school certificate, or most recent diploma).
      • Residence in metropolitan France (including Corsica).
    2. Covered situations:
      • Students living alone, in shared accommodation, or as a couple
        • Shared accommodation: All roommates must also be students or recent graduates. You can add up to 5 roommates by selecting the "roommate" option when subscribing.
        • Couple: If you're a couple and both students/recent graduates, you can subscribe. However, if one member of the couple is not a student/recent graduate, membership is not possible.
    3. Scholarship and non-scholarship students:
      • This contract is open to all student tenants, whether they receive scholarships or not, with no age limit.
    4. Higher education (including internships and work-study programs):
      • The contract is for students in traditional education or work-study programs, subject to providing valid proof and residing in metropolitan France.
    5. Minor students (from age 16) and adults:
      • Both minor and adult students with valid proof of enrollment can subscribe.

    No documentation is required during online subscription. However, in case of a claim, proof such as a student ID may be requested.

    Non-eligible persons: Anyone not meeting the above criteria.

    For what type of accommodation?

    Our home insurance contract covers the following student accommodations:

    • Apartments, houses, and studios: Our insurance protects any student accommodation occupied as a tenant, whether it's an apartment, house, or studio.
    • University rooms and CROUS residences
      • Students residing in university rooms or CROUS residences are also eligible.
    • Youth worker hostels (FJT) and student residences
      • Accommodations located in FJTs or student residences are covered by our contract.
    • Accommodations with 1 to 4 rooms
      • During your subscription, you can indicate the number of rooms in your accommodation (up to 4 rooms).
    • Furnished or unfurnished accommodations
      • Our contract applies to both furnished and unfurnished accommodations.
    Which plan to choose ?

    I am an international student coming to study in France, can I subscribe?
    Yes, you can subscribe to the student home insurance contract if you reside and study in metropolitan France.
    I live in shared accommodation, what should I do?

    It depends on your rental lease:

    • If you have an individual lease, you must insure your room and the common living areas without declaring the other roommates.
    • If you and your roommates have a joint lease, you must insure all living areas and all roommates.

    Please note that all tenants named in the contract must be students or recent graduates. If they do not have this status, they are not eligible for the student housing insurance contract and should contact another insurer.

    We are a couple and one of us is not a student/recent graduate, can we subscribe?

    Our contract is strictly reserved for students and recent graduates. Here are the conditions for couples:

    • If both members of the couple are students or recent graduates, you can subscribe to the contract together. During subscription, you must declare the second member of the couple as a roommate.
    • If one of the two does not have this status, the couple is not eligible for insurance.
    I have children, are they covered?
    No. Our contract only covers students/recent graduates; even under civil liability, children are not covered.
    Is home insurance mandatory?

    Yes, home insurance is mandatory when you are a tenant, regardless of the type of accommodation in which you reside: University room, CROUS, studio, apartment, house, even if the latter is occupied free of charge.

    The law of July 6, 1989, modified by Article 7 of the law of November 23, 2018 stipulates that the tenant is obliged to: "insure against risks for which they are responsible as a tenant and provide proof when the keys are handed over and then each year at the landlord's request. Proof of this insurance results from providing the landlord with a certificate from the insurer or their representative."

    A home insurance certificate is required before signing the lease and receiving the keys, at each lease renewal, and every year.

    This insurance guarantees mandatory risks such as:

    • Your tenant's liability risks as stipulated in articles 1732 and 1733 of the Civil Code
    • Your personal property within the limits of the guarantees.

    By default and to provide you with more peace of mind, we systematically include:

    • Legal protection
    • Personal accident coverage (for recent graduates)
    • Grade repeat compensation (for students)

    Depending on the options selected, we also offer coverage for the following risks:

    • Civil liability
    • Theft
    • Glass breakage
    • Computer equipment extension covering accidental breakage of computers and their peripherals up to €1,300
    Is home insurance for a furnished accommodation mandatory?

    Yes, home insurance is mandatory for furnished accommodation. Adding civil liability coverage is strongly recommended to protect you for damages caused to others.

    We remind you that the Alur law of March 24, 2014 now requires any non-occupying co-owner to insure the same accommodation to protect it in case of hazards and also guarantee its contents.

    In the absence of a home insurance contract, the consequences may be as follows:

    • Refusal by your landlord or property owner to rent you the accommodation
    • Termination of your lease
    • Your landlord/property owner may take out insurance on your behalf and add the contract amount to your rent

    As a reminder, this insurance certificate must be provided:

    • Before moving into the accommodation
    • At each lease renewal
    • Every year
    What is multi-risk home insurance?

    Multi-risk home insurance is designed to protect residential premises (Studio, apartment, house, university room, CROUS, or private accommodation) occupied as a tenant. This insurance is mandatory for any tenant before receiving the keys.

    The contract offered by ADH student/recent graduate insurance systematically guarantees:

    • Fire and similar events
    • Water damage
    • Climatic events
    • Attacks and acts of terrorism
    • Natural and technological disasters
    • Legal protection service
    • Grade repeat compensation reserved for students
    • Personal accident coverage reserved for recent graduates

    Depending on your needs and the chosen plan, you can subscribe to the following optional guarantees and services:

    • Civil liability (private life, company internship, school, and extracurricular)

    Is ADH insurance eligible for ERASMUS students?

    To subscribe to our home insurance contract, you must meet the following criteria:

    • Be a student and have valid proof (student card or school certificate).
    • Be a recent graduate who completed studies within the last 3 calendar years.
    • Reside in metropolitan France, including Corsica.
    Is home insurance eligible for students living in CROUS?

    Yes, our home insurance is suitable for all students, whether you are alone or in shared accommodation. Here are the types of accommodation we cover:

    I'm looking for affordable student home insurance, is the contract offered by ADH insurance suitable?
    We know that as a student/recent graduate, your budget is not unlimited, and that's why we offer you the best prices with levels of coverage adapted to your needs. We offer you a student home insurance contract starting from €20.85 per year, or €1.39 per month for 15 months if you subscribe from June 1st.
    How is the price of my student housing insurance determined ?

    The price of your contract is defined as fairly as possible with our partner companies, taking into account the following criteria:

    1. The number of rooms in your accommodation: Whether you live in a house, a furnished room, a university residence, or CROUS, the price is the same. However, it varies according to its composition.
    2. The chosen plan: We offer 3 different levels to cover you according to your needs.
    3. The selected options:
      • To adapt to the number of occupants in your accommodation, you can add up to 5 roommates. However, to be covered, they must also be students/recent graduates.
      • For more comfort, we also insure accidental breakage of computers and their peripherals up to €1,300 through the computer equipment guarantee, provided that this incident takes place in your accommodation.

    We systematically include in your contract, regardless of the chosen plan, the following guarantees and services:

    What does the "Personal Accident" guarantee cover for recent graduates?

    This guarantee offers compensation in case of death or total or partial permanent disability resulting from an accident. Here are the coverage amounts provided:

    • Death: €3,000
    • Total Permanent Disability: €3,000
    • Partial Permanent Disability: Coverage reduced according to the degree of infirmity, in accordance with the European scale for the assessment of physical and psychological integrity.

    In case of partial disability, the compensation amount is adjusted according to the severity of the infirmity, following the reference scale.

    What does the "Grade repeat compensation" guarantee cover for students?

    The grade repeat guarantee applies in one of the following situations:

    • Following the death of a close relative within 30 days preceding the start of examinations,
    • Following your hospitalization due to an accident or illness lasting more than 48 hours and occurring within 15 days preceding the start of examinations.

    You automatically benefit from a compensation payment of the amount of rent for the repeated year, up to a limit of €3,000.

    How do I pay for my contract?
    Your student home insurance premium must be paid by credit card at the final step of subscription or contract renewal.
    When will I receive my certificate?

    Once payment is made, the certificate will be sent to your email. It is also available for download at any time from your customer area.

    Can I choose the effective date of my contract?

    When subscribing to your contract, it is not possible to choose a specific date. Two options will be offered to you:

    • By checking "Today," your contract will take effect immediately. In case of withdrawal within the 14-day period, we will refund the premium in full. After this period, the premium is acquired in full, and no partial refund will be made.
    • By checking "In 14 days," your contract will take effect after the 14-day withdrawal period. After this period, the premium is acquired in full, and no partial refund will be made.
    If I subscribe, how long am I insured for?

    Your contract takes effect according to the chosen option ("Today" or "in 14 days"), it will automatically end on August 31st of the current school year. Our contract has no automatic renewal, meaning it does not renew automatically. You can renew your contract in a few minutes via your customer area from June 1st.

    Example:

    • I subscribe on September 1, 2024, I am insured until August 31, 2025.
    • I subscribe on January 1, 2025, I am insured until August 31, 2025.

    Attention, from June 1st of each year, the subscription is valid for the following school year. Example: I subscribe on June 1, 2025, I am insured until August 31, 2026.

    How can I retrieve my login details?

    How can I cancel my contract?
    You have a 14-day cooling-off period after subscribing online to exercise your right of withdrawal. During this 14-day period: You may cancel your contract and receive a refund of the premium paid. After this period: Withdrawal is no longer possible, but you can still cancel your contract at any time. However, no refund will be issued once the 14 days have passed. In any case, the contract will automatically end on August 31. To cancel your contract, simply follow these steps:
    • Go to “My Account” and log in using your login details.
    • In the “Contract” tab, click on “Other actions”.
    • Click on “Request cancellation”.
    Will I receive a new insurance certificate if my contract is modified?
    If you update your contract, you can instantly download your updated certificate from your personal account. Just go to the “Contract” tab and click on “Download my certificate”.
    I lost my insurance certificate. What should I do?
    You can download your insurance certificate anytime from your personal account. It’s quick and easy:
    • Go to “My Account” and log in with your credentials.
    • In the “Contract” tab, click on “Download my certificate”.
    Your certificate will be downloaded as a PDF, dated with the day of your request.
    *If I move or want to change my plan, do I need to subscribe again?
    You can modify your contract online at any time from your personal account for the following reasons:
    • Change of address (move or correction).
    • Change of coverage plan.
    • Add or remove one or more roommates (up to 5).
    • Add or remove the computer equipment coverage.
    In all cases, there's no need to start a new subscription. Simply follow these steps:
    • Go to “My Account” and log in with your credentials.
    • In the “Contract” tab, click on “Other actions”.
    • On the “Modify your contract” page, select the items you wish to change.
    • Click “Confirm changes” at the bottom of the page.
    I want to file a complaint. How should I proceed?

    What is Liability Insurance?

    Liability insurance is the legal obligation to compensate for damages caused to others, whether material, bodily, or immaterial. If you are found responsible for unintentionally causing harm to another person, this coverage will cover the repair costs, in accordance with Article 1240 and Article 1241 of the Civil Code.
